This is a very interesting book documenting the first ten years of the Saskatchewan Karate Association (now commemorating its 25th year).
Subtitled "The story of karate in Saskatchewan," it describes various aspects of traditional karate, the clubs available at
the time, early tournaments, and other items. Directed to experienced karateka and the unitiated alike, it is well worth a read.

gain in confidence. It's an entertaining children's story, but is also a good introduction to the
terms and traditions practiced in traditional karate. |
| The Empty Hand: A Karate Wordbook

This is a very well-written book giving the history and definitions of twenty eight Japanese words. The book
gives a long description of each words and how it relates to karate and its history. In addition, it
gives each word a full-page display of it's Japanese characters, as well as a description
of the history of each of these letters. Recommended reading! |
